Typhoon Falcon (Bagyong Falcon) Track

Bagyong Falcon or Tropical Storm Falcon was estimated by
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) at 370 km East Northeast of Tuguegarao City, with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph, according to the 5:00 a.m. update by the weather bureau.

In a DZMM radio interview at 6:00 a.m. today, DOST Undersecretary Graciano Yumul said that Typhoon Falcon
has strengthened and been aided by the southwest monsoon. He added that the
Typhoon Falcon
is now moving in the North Northwest direction at 19 kph. Yumul explained that more rains is expected in Luzon as Typhoon Falcon moves out of the country by Saturday evening.

PAGASA weather forecast expects rains with gusty winds in the islands of Calayan, Babuyan and
Batanes. The rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will have monsoon rains that may bring flash floods and landslides. Mostly cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms is expected in Mindanao and the rest of
Visayas.

Northern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds coming from the Northwest to Southwest, while the rest of the country will experience winds coming from the Southwest to south. The country's seaboards will be moderate to rough.

On Thursday evening, June 23, 2011, the Department of Education (DepEd) has suspended all classes in Metro Manila on Friday, June 24.
